I want to uninstall my copy of DejaVu X and reinstall it as it has suddenly stopped responding when I try to open it (it freezes at the Loading UI objects point). I do not, however, want to lose my translation memories. Can anyone tell me whether they are left in place (i.e. as files wherever I have stored them) following an uninstallation?
Many thanks.
Mark

Mark,
Yes, they are left in place. I would however advise you to make backups of the settings.dvset file under C://Program Files//ATRIL//Deja Vu X and your language specific spelling dictionaries under C://Program Files//ATRIL//Deja Vu X//Spelling.

Thanks for the advice, Jost. Can you tell me just out of interest why it's a good idea to make a backup of the settings file?

The settings file is the file where all your client, subjects, delimitation rules, AutoCorrect entries, etc. are stored, so it is a pretty important file to the way that you want DV to run.
