New top banner (blue-black, chess figures), messed up menu tabs, etc? Thread poster: Katalin Horváth McClure

Since yesterday or so, all of a sudden the top part of my screen looks different than before. I tried logging out and logging back in to see if it is a glitch, but it is still there. If I go to Member activities -> Certified Pro Network, the resulting screen is quite messed up: http://www.proz.com/translation-center/ The tabs are broken, my name at the top is duplicated, etc. Did something get messed up with the stylesheets? I'd been thinking of asking too.Was the Ideas tab there before, BTW? Anyway, there's blue (cobalt/royal) in various places near the top of the page, and black, and not sure why. Is it a gradual colour makeover? Hope not. Were those chess pieces always there? | | | | Woodstock (X) Germany Local time: 11:31 German to English + ... I use Chrome, and am not experiencing any layout problems, but I certainly agree with the above comments about the terrible color scheme. Not fond of the ProZ colors in general, and these new design elements are definitely not helping, but I just try to ignore it. The website design is not what I've been paying membership dues for since 2005! Luckily, lol.

I actually like it! and I'm not one to praise Proz willy-nilly, but it might just be because I really dislike the "normal" banner colours so much. My tabs are also ok, and I use IE10. @Rachel By the way - the "ideas" tab has been there for a while but it is quite snugly hidden away there in the corner, I didn't notice it till it was literally pointed out to me. | | | Rachel Fell United Kingdom Local time: 10:31 French to English + ...
I see, Ty, I thought it might have been but only noticed it because the chess piece next to it is now blue. I don't mind the usual Proz colours, as at least they go together, but the blue is very discordant against them. | | | It looks weird... | Jun 2, 2013 |

See more It reminded me of this: ... as things don't match, no matter how much I like blue, the main color used on my web site. The "Ideas" tab, previously highlighted, is now floating, to reveal the queen's bottom. And what's that chess game? Is it intended as a reminder of those slick outsourcers and their NDAs crammed with pitfalls? I hope it is just a partial test intended for a complete redesign. ▲ Collapse | | | 4 readings and a funeral | Jun 3, 2013 |
My first thought was that somebody had died and I expected/feared some kind of notice just below. Fortunately it seems not to be the case. As for chess and blue queens, I assume it just fills the right side of the banner. But I'd have liked a sailboat. Or a Hubble shot. Should I submit a quick poll? Philippe

The layout of all Proz.com pages has been messed up for the last couple of days and this continues for me. I'm using Safari as my browser, which I have done for the last five years. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » New top banner (blue-black, chess figures), messed up menu tabs, etc?
