I’ve gained experience as a junior in-house translator and as a co-ordinator at a translation agency before becoming a freelance translator and editor.
I’m passionate about good writing: I want your message to sound natural in English. I have a keen eye for detail, honed by quality controlling translations into many languages.
I can offer the following skills and experience to help with your next translation job:
Co-ordinating marketing translations (brand guides, website copy, adverts) and proof-reading translations into English at Creative Translation;
Translating a wide variety of texts for Schüco International, including technical marketing brochures, press releases, internal regulations and user manuals;
Legal training – I’ve completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies, an intensive 1-year course designed to convert any undergraduate degree into a law degree;
Translator training at Aston University with a focus on European Union translation and political translation;
Summarising European market developments for a business information service, focusing in particular on the Austrian and Swiss commercial and banking sectors.
I am organised, professional and friendly. Having worked at a busy translation agency, I understand the challenges facing project managers.
No project too unusual
I have co-ordinated many non-standard jobs relating to concept checking, branding and market research. If your project is unusual, let me know. I may have dealt with something similar.
Translation and editing work includes:
Presentation on an advertising proposal for Porsche (German > English)
Interviews with Austrian former Winter Olympic champions (German > English)
Employment contract for a managing director (French > English)
Section from an annual report for a franking machine company (German > English)
20,000-word publication on infrastructure projects in the EU (English monolingual editing)
