English term

use of cohorts/ podding

English to Spanish Medical Education / Pedagogy covid-19 Procedures / US school board
This is the title of a section that describes how students must be kept separated in the schools. Cohorts is evident, however the term podding is confusing. It is not used again in the text, so I can't provide any further context.
I guess it it is a reference to selfcontained groups like pods of whales.
Any suggestions?
