As for 'upskill,' I see this, not so much as updating, but as taking one's 'game' to the next level, i.e., improving, hence my suggestion of 'mejorarse.' As for 'reskill,' I associate this with the commonly expressed notion of 're-tooling,' i.e., acquiring new skills (destrezas) or abilities (habilidades) to meet the needs of a changing market.
