I would be grateful if anyone can clarify if the "Certified Pro" badge given by Proz has been officially authorised as compliant with European quality standard EN-15038:2006, the specific European standard for translation services, and if so, what body gave this authorisation.

I am not clear about this because EN-15038 only applies to translation service providers. Proz.com is not a translation service provider.

Hi Tom,

The criteria in the screening process for the Certified PRO Network are based on the EN 15038.

See http://www.proz.com/pro-tag/info/about/freelancers

I am not aware of any third party certification of the screening criteria in relation to the EN 15038, no.
