Translation - English In all of the world’s cultures, plants have been used to heal – potent remedies that require expertise. They have also been used for their ability to impart colour (natural dyes for the creation of rugs, shoes, cloth and tattoos), as well as to transmit meaning. Healers and craftsmen learn their secrets in order to have an impact upon events – plants have an undeniable power. Two South African artists take a particular interest in flowers. Andrew Putter, in his series Hottentots Holland : Flora Capensis, captures photographs of indigenous flowers from the part of the Cape where he himself was born, imitating the floral still lifes of 17th century Dutch painters.

Bio
I am South African living in Chile who has mastered French and Spanish over the course of my travels and studies.
I have over 3 years of experience working for prominent translation companies in South Africa. I have done work for major banks, high level government departments, and industrial manufacturers. My areas of specialisation are mining, information technology, and finance, with a focus on technical documentation and website localisation.
My earlier career was in the IT consulting field working with international companies where I had the opportunity to work in several languages – this gave me the chance to develop my translation skills over the years. For last few years I have dedicated myself to translation.
I pride myself on my reliability and quality, and on my research skills, which I deploy to find the best possible term in each case even if the subject matter is new, or new to me.
On a more personal note, one thing I love about living in Santiago de Chile is it has over 400km cycle paths, so I can get around pretty much anywhere by bike!
