Italiano term

contromobile

Da Italiano a Inglese Altro Arredamento/Apparecchi domestici Office furniture
In a catalogue of components for office furniture, I've come across the following phrase: "anta cristallo per **contromobile**". I don't have a picture, but the client describes this "contromobile" perhaps a touch enigmatically as: "un mobile non tanto alto e in genere abbinato ad un mobile più alto." Research in internet suggests "buffet", but it doesn't seem appropriate for an office. Does anyone have any better ideas? Thanks, Sarah.

Discussion

Sarah Gregg (asker) Oct 2, 2008:
Comment Goodness, I don't think I've ever had a "discussion entry" before! Console I hadn't thought of, but googling "office furniture" and "console" does turn up some similar looking things. Could be a possibility.

You're right about buffet, doesn't fit an office. Sometimes I also hear a French word: etagere.
Another chance is: console.

Though the one shown is not at all for office use...

console table

I like the "console" solution, but before going definitive, I'm trying to get some more information from the client. Then I'll let you know, Sarah.
Peer comment(s):

Grazie comunque.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I showed the client some of the photos of a "console" found on the web and it seems to match, so I'm going for this. Thanks to you all for the input, Sarah. "

small bookcase

Note from asker:
Unfortunately I can't use "bookcase" as further down in the list I have both "scaffale" and "libreria" :-(.
