da scheda contabile

Da Italiano a Inglese Affari/Finanza Contabilità/Amministrazione
I'm translating what I think is known as a debtors circularization - essentially a request sent out by a company to its customers asking them to confirm the balance of their account. At a certain point in the form that the customer is asked to complete and send back, the balance is broken down into “- da scheda contabile” and “- da conto effetti”. Underneath there is a “totale”, leading me to assume that the two figures are to be added together to produce a total balance. Would this make sense from an accounting point of view? And, assuming that it would, might possible translations be “accounts payable journal” (I presume we're talking about "conto effetti passivi") and “ledger card”?

Thanks in advance

Dan

from the ledger

Hi Dan, long time no see.
This will be the purchase ledger in the double entry system (secondary accounting) and they probably imagine that by the time the amount has been posted here, it has been paid. The "effetti" is really just payables but I imagine they meant the first entry daybook or the purchases journal. The logic is they want to know what has been paid and what hasn't.
Note from asker:
Hi Jim, how's it going? Thanks a lot for that.
In the end I put "bills payable". A friend of my who does this kind of work told me that, rather than being a sum, it was actually a subtraction, i.e. accounts payable less bills payable (although I think I may have been better of writing "notes payable") after a certain period, which are not to be considered as being as debt for the purposes of circularization...something like that.
Something went wrong...
