The previous list of 14 portfolios were that of Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, Freelance Affairs, Terminology Affairs, Research & Documentation, Professional Information, Publicity, Publications, Accreditation, Training, and Examinations Assistance.

The new list of 6 portfolios are that of Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer, Registrar, Office Management, and Examinations Assistance.

The new executive members are:

Chairperson: Dr Anne-Marie Beukes
Vice-Chairperson: Wilna Liebenberg
Secretary and Treasurer: Marion Boers
Registrar: Irene Dippenaar

Other changes to the institute included the formalisation of the disbanding of the Gauteng chapter and the Interpreters' special interest group, and the adoption of new, stricter rules for chapter management. Following this, there are now only two regional chapters left, namely Boland (headed by Wilna Liebenberg) and KwaZulu-Natal (headed by Sihawu Ngubane).
