I am a certified (CMI) Spanish medical interpreter who will be relocating from Boston to Northern California within 6-12 months; I have 10 years experience as a medical interpreter, primarily as a hospital staff interpreter, however in CA I'll be freelancing.
Can anyone give me some idea as to typical agency rates in CA? And typical rates for those doing Relief interpreting for a particular hospital?
Much obliged!
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
Typical agency rates in San Diego in my language pairs (Russian, Uzbek, Farsi from/to English for hospitals) is from $45 to $60 an hour +$0.35 per mileage if exceeds 50 miles. You must consider to have a reliable car because there is a public transportion, but very slow.
