I don’t know personally anyone who has taken up translation freelancing during the pandemic but the increasing number of new members who joined Proz with empty profiles or with no relevant details included seems to confirm that many people resort to freelancing…

As for freelancers, it is not a colleague or a friend but on social platform post from unknown people, there has been a complaint they no longer had any job after epidemic and unhappily quit freelancer (some are at age of more than 50 ! and it may seemed a difficult situation) Highly increased investment to MT engine during pandemic was seen, normal operation / business stopped and most companies were too rich in retained surplus, having received ample gov. compensation for lockdown period, and this seemed to have taken his job away from them. I expect this trend to continue. I did not quit anything so far but some agencies asked for drastic rate cut because of Pandemic and tedious post edit jobs simply increased.

Yes Sep 29, 2022

I don't think they'll last, though. They see it as a side job, and, honestly, I don't think they're cut out to it.

What is the difference between ‘No’ and ‘I don’t know’? If you don’t know, then your option is No.
Am I right or yes?
