cut
First comes what is known as the 'corte' (cut), where the 'roga' or group of treaders, 2 per 500 litres, do a rhythmic initial tread to break open the skins, which takes about 2 hours. After this, treading will continue on a less formal basis for a further 2 hours, by which time the grapes will have been transformed into a thick soup.

blend
I am almost certain that the correct term in English for what they are referring to here is a 'blend' ('used in blends'...'form part of a final blend').
Martell VS - VS: Very Special Aged: 5-7 years History: Martell’s original Cognac **blend**.

Blending is perhaps the most important part of cognac making. Cognacs from the six crus, distilled by different master distillers and aged for various amounts of time in oak, will all have different flavours, aromas and characteristics.

Coupage (o vino de corte) - Mezcla de distintos vinos o cepajes
http://www.mendozatour.com.ar/es/bodegas/diccionario.asp?id_...

Mmm, with all due respect to the other answerer, are you absolutely sure you\'ve got the right term here 2ways??? \'Used in cuts\'? \'final cut of cognac\'?
