Urban Spaces

malls
Described by Wikipedia as "inward-facing"
Modern "car-friendly" strip malls developed from the 1920s, and shopping malls corresponded with the rise of suburban living in many parts of the Western World, especially the United States, after World War II. From early on, the design tended to be inward-facing, with malls following theories of how customers could best be enticed in a controlled environment.

indoor market
This sounds like it could be some kind of upmarket "indoor market" in the UK. Not at all sure though hence low confidence level.

: I think you should jack up your confidence level, Chris. This is perfect for the context, or 'enclosed market (building)', to differentiate from 'mall' which is mentioned as included in the Query term. Please see my Discussion entry.

stand-alone mall/stand-alone building
Ponder the Notion of a Stand-Alone Mall in Vegas: One of the tricks of Vegas is that everything is connected. Like a rat in an maze, tourists have to navigate a set of pathways--usually lined with upscale stores, boutiques or restaurants--to get to the casino, for instance. The Daniel Libeskind-designed Crystals shopping mall is a stand-alone building, while he was also able to open up some parts of the roof to let in natural light. "It’s not just a cynical exploitation of money," Libeksind told us, taking about the overall design of CityCenter. "This is a space that’s real. It’s not just a fake space." la.curbed.com/.../last_week_the_muchballyhooed_city.php - Estados Unidos - En caché
