Eileen: if this is the only thing you have "no arterial hipertensión, no DM, no personal history of ischemic cardiopathy" then it is definitely diabetes mellitus.

Both forms are used in English, hence the abbreviation to DM- I do agree, though, that in this context diabetes mellitis is much more likely!
