Spanish term
asegurar su libre testimonio
Spanish to English
Law/Patents
International Org/Dev/Coop
From a document about torture from Spain.
I know the meaning here but not sure what the English term would be.

ensure they can speak out / give testimony without fear
I think this is more commonly used than "freely". In legal terms I've heard "without fear of reprisal"

Comment: "Many thanks to all! I think a few of the options would have worked here but I went for 'without fear of reprisal'."
