Italian term

come a voler riversare

Italian to English Art/Literary Religion Catholic Dogma/Liturgical Esthetics
Contesto:

Molto Grazie,

as if (trying) to channel

What an incredibly 'Italian' piece of writing! In English I think you have no choice but to take away a few of the frills. I think either 'as if to channel' or 'as if trying/hoping to channel' would probably work. Good luck with the rest of the sentence too!

as if to burst forth...[ and cast the purifying brilliance of divine glory]

you'd probably need to tweak and turn the phrase a little to best fit the rest of it, but this is how I might put it...

as if to burst forth and cast the (purifying) brilliance of divine glory over...
