This has come up in a report for an inquiry undertaken for insurance purposes and refers to invitation to the parties to attend an inspection "in contraddittorio". I think the idea is that the parties can attend being able to argue their case/point of view, but the usual meanings of "cross-examination" and "joint consultations" don't really convey this. Any suggestions?
