acquiferi salmastri o salati profondi, ospitati nella struttura calcarea sepolta (profondità fra 750 e 1000 m dal piano campagna), con temperatura di 60-65 °C. Questi acquiferi sono generalmente isolati dai sovrastanti acquiferi dolci ad opera di uno spessore variabile di formazioni impermeabili interposte ( eocenico e depositi del Miocene).
