This is from a description of the design and testing of a software product. The whole sentence says:
Le verifiche di progettazione del Sw sono eseguite mediante test del Sw eseguiti, prima di ogni rilascio, sia a livello di modulo che a livello di integrazione/sistema.
I don't understand the term "a livello di modulo" here. For "modulo" I find translations such as "form, module, unit, pattern" but in this context I don't know how to translate it (I usually work on medical material directly related to patient treatment; this software is for medical use, but software development is a whole new field for me).
So I have so far: "The SW design testing is performed using tests of the SW performed before every release ...."

: these days all software is developed as modules, classes, etc. Individual modules or components are tested independently, and then the entire system is tested together.
