This is a locked room for keeping a secure computer in, so I don't think it's a switchboard. Where I used to work we called a room like that the "server room".
Can "centralino" be used to mean anything other than "telephone switchboard"?
Here's the context:
"L’azienda ha previsto al riguardo una procedura di sicurezza, che prevede la custodia del computer presso una sala chiusa (centralino locale) a chiave, che viene fornita a persone autorizzate."

telephone switchboard
I read the sentence as something like "the cmputer will be kept in a locked room (the telephone switchboard)..." Basically the item in parenthesis provides information about the exact nature of the locked room; in other words, it could be that in this specific company the switchboard is usually kept locked, and they chose to keep their sensitive data there... Just a guess, but centralino is always used for telephones as far as I know... hth

Comment: "Thanks. When I looked at the context again I saw that this is correct - that's what they do in this company. "...the computer is to be kept locked in a closed room (the switchboard room)..." "
