Italian term

(il percorso di visita) si sviluppa (attraverso 60 stanze )

Italian to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
It's the typical Italian expression for the itinerary in a museum. I need some "artsy" translation for "develops" - any suggestions?

Discussion

TrishCivitella Jun 19, 2008:
I would definitely say "along"!.... or maybe "through".... definitely not "across".... does not translate well IMO.
Nico_M_ITEN Jun 19, 2008:
unfolds through è più"attraverso"nel senso di"grazie a",io non vedrei male throughout (durante) o along (che dà l'idea del muoversi lungo il percorso),forse anche across..con qualche ricerca in goog forse trovi qualche museo british!son di fretta!BuonLav!

4 mins

unfolds

Ecco il mio suggerimento...

la prima cosa che mi è venuta in mente
Note from asker:
Question to all of you really! Would it unfold "across" or "through" the rooms? Thanks

unfurls

You add something like...

"(unfurls) a path of historical wonders...."
maybe??!!

is housed (see below)

I would change the sentence to make it sound more natural in English:

...the exhibition is housed in sixty rooms...

4 mins

unfolds

What do you think?

Maybe like this: The visit unfolds as we pass through 60 rooms...
