This is from an article on a lithic complex on Monte Doc near Treviso. It's a reference to a figure, which of course is not included in the source text. The text is aimed at a specialist readership.

I have checked the glossary but none of the translations seem to fit the context here. Might it be survey?

@ Helen I take your point, but I don't think it's a questioning of translating into a language that is not my mother tongue, which I have done many a time before. My problem is that the ST is replete with technical terms which I'm unfamiliar with and don't know how to translate. I may be wrong but I think that many of the native speakers would also have trouble finding suitable translations for the terms I posted.
