es lo que me sugiere, aunque tal vez "por" tenga un tono algo peyorativo (for the sake of) pero en el fondo creo que el sentido es el mismo.
Esto intentando ceñirse a la repetición de la palabra.

la estima de creencia en si
This would seem to capture the sense better, in Spanish, than "creer por creer" (the latter suggests "believing for the sake of believing" whereas the English seems to refer to the individual's belief in the "value" of belief in itself.
