is financially literate = está versado en finanzas
No existe "hterate", obviamente tiene que ser "literate".

Personal financial literacy. You may be familiar with the term, but do you know what it means? In general, being financially literate means knowing how to manange money, use credit effectively, build wealth, and make smart financial decisions. And contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t have anything to do with your income level —whether you’re making minimum wage at a part-time job or hauling in a six-figure salary, being financially literate means knowing what to do with your paycheck once you’ve earned it. Unfortunately, recent studies have shown that the lack of financial literacy among Americans is increasing, and the problem is affecting people of all ages. In 1999, for example, the nation’s rate of personal savings — that is, savings as a percentage of disposable income — hit an all-time low. The following sites share one goal: improving financial literacy in America. Not only will they show you the importance of financial literacy; they may help you improve your own.
