En mi experiencia, los sistemas con fechas efectivas, suponen la existencia de más de un registro que treta con una misma identidad y cuya diferencia fundamental está en su fecha efectiva, y solamente se considera activo o válido aquel registro que cuenta con la máxima o mínima fecha efectiva según convenga a la lógica del sistema en cuestión.
