En un estudio preclínico titulado: "A 6-month oral toxicity study of CDB-2914U in female Rats":
"Hematology and clinical chemistry evaluations were performed at 3 and 6 months. **At terminal euthanasia prior to necropsy**, a blood sample was collected from each animal and the serum analyzed for CDB-2914 and its immunoreactive metabolites, corticosterone, and prolactin. These analyses were performed by [empresa] using radioimmunoassay procedures. At the end of the treatment period, animals were euthanized and necropsied, specific organs were weighed, and a complete set of organs/tissues to include gross lesions was taken and preserved. Microscopic examinations of designated tissues and gross lesions were performed for all animals in the control and 25 mg/kg/day group. "
Otro ejemplo:
"No effect of treatment with CDB-2914 was evident from animal survival data. In the 1 mg/kg/day dosage group, all animals survived-to **terminal euthanasia**. In the 5 mg/kg/day group, animal # 413 died on Study Day 146 (Study Week 21). The cause of death could not be determined on the basis of macroscopic or microscopic findings. All other animals in this group survived to **terminal euthanasia**."
Para euthanasia, he estado usando "sacrificio".

Eutanasia
“Terminal euthanasia” is a pleonasm (Redundancy), euthanasia can only be terminal. The Webster dictionary definition: “: the act or practice of killing or permitting the death of hopelessly sick or injured individuals (as persons or domestic animals) in a relatively painless way for reasons of mercy”. Therefore, you should only use “eutanasia” in your Spanish translations, and you should suggest the author of the document to eliminate terminal from the original text.
