I have noticed that both shifter and trimmer have been used for the same items in texts found on the net (see the web ref.)
And as far as I can see a trimmer and a shifter is more or less the same. In other electronic literature you often use adjustment and trimming as other words for coarse and fine adjustment.
What you acually do is phase adjustment (fasejustering), but you use a phase trimmer/shifter (faseskifter) to adjust it.
