I think RKK probably refers to a brand of oilfield exploration or production equipment that is being used (RKK PRODUCTION COMPANY, see below). 'Kernen' does indeed appear to refer to taking soil samples by drilling (see the pooljaar.nl references below). I'm not a specialist in this field, however.
