Het tv-signaal wordt door uw kabelmaatschappij huis-aan-huis bezorgd. Men geeft het signaal aan u over, door middel van een ‘AbonneeOvernamePunt’, of in normaal Nederlands: een aansluitdoos. In oudere huizen vindt u die aansluitdoos meestal in de woonkamer. Do we have an official term in English for this? Have spent a while looking, but all I have come up with so far is connection box.

Both seem OK to me, although they are not precise translations of the source term. I'd stick to a literal translation in this case myself, especially since a more popular term is also used, but that's a matter of taste of course.

Hi all. Jack, I liked your suggestion, but wasn't sure as it is not widely used, as you indicated. Writeaway and Adam - you links helped me look further, and I have come up with incoming cable connection or, alternatively, Customer Connection Point.

Hi writeaway - yes, I found that link too - it's clear what the AOP is - was trying to work out the English equivalent. Adam - thanks for your link. I sometimes forget to check the inverse language pair on Kudoz to see if anything useful comes up.
