factory floor jargon Slaan would appear to be the 'factory floor' jargon voor ineenrijgen. If there is no equivalent 'factory floor' term in English (or if you can't find it), you'll have to translate 'around' it, e.g. 'Then the braiding starts: this is the process by which the individual strands are twisted together by machine...'.
