Dutch term
ostium grote gevorkte MO1 tak
Dutch to English
Medical
Medical: Cardiology
This is part of the medical history of a patient who has severe stenosis in proximal LAD and in the ostium grote gevorkte MO1 tak.
I am struggling with the part of grote gevorkte MO1 tak translation.
I am struggling with the part of grote gevorkte MO1 tak translation.
Proposed translations
1 hr
large bifurcational lesion involving the ostium of the first obtuse marginal branch
...or something along these lines
(a bit more original context would be helpful)

Dutch term (edited):
ernstige stenose in het ostium van een grote gevorkte MO1 tak
severe ostial stenosis of a large bifurcated OM1 branch
it says 'ostium grote gevorkte MO1 tak'
this translates as 'ostium of a large bifurcated OM1 branch'
it doesn't say that the lesion is large but that the OM1 is large and that it is bifurcated
so it should be 'severe ostial stenosis of a large bifurcated OM1 branch'
in all
ernstige stenose in de proximale LAD en in het ostium (van een) grote gevorkte MO1 tak
= een ernstige stenose in de proximale LAD en een ernstige stenose in het ostium van een grote gevorkte MO1 tak
so, for example:
Coronary angiography showed severe proximal LAD stenosis and severe ostial stenosis of a large bifurcated OM1 branch.
Discussion
ernstige stenose in het ostium grote gevorkte MO1 tak
can only be read as
ernstige stenose in het ostium van een grote gevorkte MO1 tak
just like 'ernstige stenose in proxímale LAD' can only be read as 'ernstige stenose in de proximale LAD'
I put it between brackets just because it is not in the original text
As you probably know, articles and prepositions are often left out out in these kinds of reports
ernstige stenose in de proximale LAD en in het ostium (van een) grote gevorkte MO1 tak
= een ernstige stenose in de proximale LAD en een ernstige stenose in het ostium van een grote gevorkte MO1 tak
what is missing?
so, for example:
Coronary angiography showed severe proximal LAD stenosis and severe ostial stenosis of a large bifurcated OM1 branch.
this translates as 'ostium of large bifurcated OM1 branch'
it doesn't say that the lesion is large but that the OM1 is large and that it is bifurcated
so it should be 'severe ostial stenosis of large bifurcated OM1 branch'
