la franquicia restante

Private health insurance - how does the 'excess' work?

"The exact process depends on the policy you have. But there are three main ways this might work.

The most common form is a policy where the excess "resets" every year at the policy renewal date.

So if your policy renews in June, and you make a claim in May, and then again in August, you’d pay the excess twice, once for a claim within each policy year.

However, for some policies, the excess resets a year after it was first paid.

This means that if your policy renews in June, and you claim in May, you wouldn’t have to pay the excess again until the next claim you made after the following May."
