Though I'm happy because this question made me remember a word I haven't heard or used in years: cobbler! I mention this because of Phoenix III's comment, a 'remontadora' could be a cobbler's sewing machine or a fancy piece of equipment!

It is apparent that we all agree (Kathryn, Helena and myself). It is a shoe repair shop and or machine for that purpose. The issue would be which type of machine in order to estimate the kw consumption as there are many types of machines that assemble shoes in a shoe repair shop.

Hi Helena, exactly. I live in Colombia, am very familiar with these businesses, and can't see that we disagree on anything.

It probably can refer to a shoe repair machine as well; I just don't have any knowledge of that. The example just states the type of business, but it's a logical and very small leap to understand machine here for this context.

Reparchadora is also a Colombian word, Romina, as are probably lots of the words, by the looks of it.

if you google "remontadora de calzado" you'll see that it refers to shoe repair shops that exist in different Colombian towns. And if you go to 'images', you'll see photos of several establishments.

Though you're quite right, we need more context.

What country is this from? Where are these inspections taking place?

Helena, remontadora is the name of the location, like the shoe repair shop. I'm not aware of it being the name of a tool or machine used there. If I saw a way it could make sense, I'd suggest it.

I've only been able to find 'remontadora de calzado', which would be 'shoe repair machine'.
